Walkathon 2026 is Here!!

The Walkathon Drive is GHSC's most impactful fundraiser, providing for ALL School-Wide Enrichment Programs, Community Events, Scholarships, and miscellaneous Guadalupe needs for the year! It is crucial to supplement the funding gaps that state and USD budgets do not provide for.

Your student brought home their Walkathon Info Packet yesterday! Please check their backpacks and review it with them. You are welcome to have your child(ren) create fundraising videos to send to family and friends!  Each student has a fundraising page on Toolkit for you to customize and link!

TWO Parts to The Walkathon:

1) Fundraising Drivebetween 10/1/26 - 10/23/26.

  • The goal is for each student to raise $200 to help fully fund Guadalupe's dynamic enrichment programs & events.
  • The school-wide goal is to raise $82K.  Together, Grizzlies are on helping to write their next chapter!

2) School-Wide Walkathon Event (Wednesday, 10/21 from 8:15am - 10am).

  • This celebratory event is held on the upper field, where the whole school walks/runs laps, dances to fun music, enjoys themed activity stations, and partakes in allergy-friendly sweet treats!

Please click the button below to take 2 minutes to activate your child's Donation Page and donate on GHSC Toolkit.  Thank YOU!

TRAFFIC REMINDERS

Please help us keep students, families, and drivers safe during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up by following these important traffic reminders:

NO U-TURNS
Please do not make U-turns on the narrow streets surrounding the school during drop-off and pick-up. These maneuvers can create dangerous situations for pedestrians and other drivers.

SAFE DROP-OFFS
When dropping off in front of the school, children should always exit from the RIGHT-HAND SIDE of the vehicle directly onto the sidewalk. Cars may be passing on the left, making street-side exits extremely dangerous.

On Puerta Vallarta, please drop off at least 50 meters from the crosswalk and never at the stop sign. Vehicles may be turning right through this area, creating a serious safety hazard.

RED ZONES = NO STOPPING OR PARKING
Please do not stop, park, or drop off students along red-painted curbs or areas marked with NO PARKING / NO STOPPING signs. This includes TK and Kindergarten drop-off and pick-up.

WHITE ZONES = DROP-OFF ONLY
The white zones along Coleman Drive are for active drop-off only. Please do not leave your vehicle or park in these areas during drop-off or pick-up.

If you need to exit your vehicle, please park along an unmarked or green-painted curb. If those spaces are full, please find legal parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

PLEASE USE CROSSWALKS
For everyone's safety, please cross streets only at designated crosswalks. This also helps maintain a steady and predictable flow of traffic during busy drop-off times.

COLEMAN GATE IS LOCKED FROM 8:05 AM UNTIL DISMISSAL
After 8:05 AM, please use the Vera Cruz entrance. Please do not prop open the Coleman gate, as this creates an avoidable student safety concern.

EXITING THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT = RIGHT TURN ONLY
Please do not turn left when exiting the school parking lot. All vehicles should turn right toward Coleman.

Thank you for helping us be proactive and keeping our Guadalupe community safe. Please share these reminders with anyone who regularly drops off or picks up your student.

IMPORTANT ITEMS FROM MS. REYES:

  1. Volunteering/Visiting Campus this Year?
    1. If you haven't filled out USD's YEARLY mandatory Volunteer Code of Conduct, you can submit it HERE.  (This is a yearly requirement)
    2. Scan your Driver's License in the Raptor System in the office. (If you're already in the system, no need to re-scan)
    3. RSVP to school-hour events for EACH GUEST here: https://forms.gle/T9HYpub2h4BqTGGx6
  2. District Illness Absence Policy: If your student has vomited, had diarrhea, or run a fever of 100˚F or above in the last 24 hours, please keep your student home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. Please report your student's illness and absence daily by calling the Guadalupe Attendance Line - Please call ‭(408) 927-9452‬
  3. District Independent Study: If your child will be absent for 3 consecutive school days (and no longer than 14 days in total throughout the year), you must coordinate a short-term independent study option with your teacher.  Parents must contact their teacher or the office at least two weeks in advance for a link to the request form.
  4. Arriving After 8:15 AM: All late students must visit the front office to check in and obtain a late slip.
  5. YARD DUTY SHORTAGE: The front office is still short on Yard Duties for lunchtime. They are simply asking for a dedication of one weekly lunch shift. If you are interested in helping, please contact Ms. Reyes at reyessy@unionsd.org.
  6. Forgotten something at home? Parents should leave lunches, water bottles, glasses, etc on the table outside the office to avoid interrupting class instruction.  Please LABEL their items!  Tell your students to check this table in case they forget something - this way we avoid calling into classes and interrupting instruction.
  7. Label Bottle/Lunch Boxes/Clothing: Please label all items your student carries or layers of clothing they can remove.
  8. Have a non-urgent question or comment for the office? Please avoid the office first thing in the morning- it's a busy time when Ms. Reyes is helping tardy students get to class.  You are welcome to email or visit at a later time in the day.

All district guidelines are provided in the Union District Parents' Annual Rights Notification.

If you have any questions please email Ms. Reyes <reyessy@unionsd.org>
