Spirit Days

🐾 Join us for a Special Event on Thursday, April 2nd after school! 🐾

Come Walk a Mile in Their Minds by participating in our first-ever simulation event, where you can experience what it’s like to have a variety of learning differences, both physical and mental!

We will have several stations set up on the upper blacktop for students to step into a neurodivergent learner’s lived reality, revealing the invisible barriers that shape behavior, stress responses, and day-to-day functioning.

Through guided activities, you'll gain deeper insight, empathy, and a clearer understanding of what differently wired brains genuinely experience in their day-to-day lives. Join us for this enriching experience and help us celebrate Minds of All Kinds! Also, stop and get Kona Ice after your experience!

If you’d like to volunteer to help out for this event, you can sign up here!

Spirit Day:

🌈Join us in celebrating Minds of All Kinds by wearing rainbow colors on Thursday, April 2nd! ∞🌈

IMPORTANT ITEMS FROM MS. FAMA:

  1. Volunteering/Visiting Campus this Year?
    1. If you haven't filled out USD's YEARLY mandatory Volunteer Code of Conduct, you can submit it HERE.  (This is a yearly requirement)
    2. Scan your Driver's License in the Raptor System in the office. (If you're already in the system, no need to re-scan)
    3. RSVP to school-hour events for EACH GUEST here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdHGN6q7rDlikv-6bk8hyZNM6kBkJkxm-g2Ciw5gyu7iIC7xA/viewform?usp=header
  2. District Illness Absence Policy: If your student has vomited, had diarrhea, or run a fever of 100˚F or above in the last 24 hours, please keep your student home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. Please report your student's illness and absence daily by calling the Guadalupe Attendance Line - Please call ‭(408) 927-9452‬
  3. District Independent Study: If your child will be absent for 3 consecutive school days (and no longer than 14 days in total throughout the year), you must coordinate a short-term independent study option with your teacher.  Parents must contact their teacher or the office at least two weeks in advance for a link to the request form.
  4. Arriving After 8:15 AM: All late students must visit the front office to check in and obtain a late slip.
  5. YARD DUTY SHORTAGE: The front office is still short on Yard Duties for lunchtime. They are simply asking for a dedication of one weekly lunch shift. If you are interested in helping, please contact Ms. Fama at famag@unionsd.org.
  6. Forgotten something at home? Parents should leave lunches, water bottles, glasses, etc on the table outside the office to avoid interrupting class instruction.  Please LABEL their items!  Tell your students to check this table in case they forget something - this way we avoid calling into classes and interrupting instruction.
  7. Label Bottle/Lunch Boxes/Clothing: Please label all items your student carries or layers of clothing they can remove.
  8. Have a non-urgent question or comment for the office? Please avoid the office first thing in the morning- it's a busy time when Ms. Fama is helping tardy students get to class.  You are welcome to email or visit at a later time in the day.

All district guidelines are provided in the Union District Parents' Annual Rights Notification.

If you have any questions please email Ms. FAMA <famag@unionsd.org>
