Did you know...

Grizzly Families!  CGD is a vital fundraiser - 100% goes directly to your students and their classrooms. If you have already donated, THANK YOU!

If a grade level cannot raise funds, they risk canceling field trips, class events, and celebrations.

Classroom Giving Drives are grade-level specific. If you wait until the Walkathon Drive to donate, your donations will go to the general fund for programs and school-wide events.

Classroom Giving Drive - DONATE HERE!
COMPANY MATCHING ACCOUNTED FOR 40% OF ALL DONATIONS LAST YEAR!

Thank you to all of the families who checked if their employer provides Company Matching Donations!!  You made ALLLLL the difference in helping us reach our fundraising goals last year!

PLEASE VISIT GHSC.NET/MATCHING TO CHECK YOUR DONATION - YOUR EFFORTS AND SUPPORT ARE UNMATCHED (lol)!

Ready For an Ice Cream Hangout?

TRAFFIC HEROES KEEP US SAFE!
❤️ Thank you to all of our volunteers for your care and dedication! ❤️
TRAFFIC REMINDERS:

NO UTURNS

Do not make U-Turns on the surrounding narrow streets during busy morning drop offs -- it is dangerous to those walking and driving.

RED ZONES = NO STOPPING & NO PARKING

Painted red curbs are now marked with NO PARKING & STOPPING signs. Please do not use these areas to drop off or pick up students. THIS INCLUDES KINDER & TK.

WHITE ZONE = NO PARKING

The white zones along Coleman Drive are for drop offs only. Please DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR or park here during pickup and drop-off times! If you need to exit your car, please park along an unmarked or green-painted curb. If no parking is available, please find parking in the neighborhood.

ONLY USE CROSSWALKS TO CROSS THE STREET

Parents must set a positive example by crossing at crosswalks and allowing a steady flow of cars at morning drop off.

COLEMAN GATE IS LOCKED 8:05AM - DISMISSAL BELL

Please only drop off at the Vera Cruz entrance.  Do not prop open the gate- this creates avoidable student safety issues.

Sponsors Needed!

Do you know of a local company (or perhaps your own!) that would like to build out community while also helping students enjoy key programs at school? We'd love to add you to the GHSC Sponsor list!

Programs such as music/art from Starting Arts, Recess 101, reading programs, and many other essential programs are made possible through GHSC funding. Our core group of corporate sponsors help to keep these programs alive for our children.

Becoming a GHSC sponsor opens up opportunities to advertise at major school events during the year to our 500+ families that attend Guadalupe Elementary and to the surrounding community.

We offer multiple sponsor levels for a variety of benefits. More detailed information can be found at: http://ghsc.net/sponsor or reach out to the GHSC Sponsor Chair, Nancy Millward, at sponsor.ghsc@gmail.com.

Chef's Night Out Fundraiser - Panda Express

Treat the family to dinner for a worthy cause!  A portion of all sales made under Guadalupe Elementary will directly benefit our events, programs, and activities!

Come Join Us!

Come celebrate the end of the week with a picnic on the Upper Field!  Bring dinner, blankets, yourselves, and we'll bring a special allergy-friendly treat for the kids!

Need to Drop-off Early? Mileage Club starts 7:40am

Five days a week (weather and vacation days permitting), a parent volunteer will monitor student runners on the upper track while they complete laps. Students earn prizes for milestones they meet. All students must be pre-registered.

25/26 Academic Challenge Program

Join us for academic enrichment. Tentative schedule and further details will be shared in mid September 2025.

IMPORTANT ITEMS FROM MS. FAMA:

  1. District Illness Absence Policy: If your student has vomited, had diarrhea, or run a fever of 100˚F or above in the last 24 hours, please keep your student home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. Please report your student's illness and absence daily by calling the Guadalupe Attendance Line - Please call ‭(408) 927-9452‬
  2. District Independent Study: If your child will be absent for 3 consecutive school days (and no longer than 14 days in total throughout the year), you must coordinate a short-term independent study option with your teacher.  Parents must contact their teacher or the office at least two weeks in advance for a link to the request form.
  3. Arriving After 8:15 AM: All late students must visit the front office to check in and obtain a late slip.
  4. YARD DUTY SHORTAGE: The front office is still short on Yard Duties for lunchtime. They are simply asking for a dedication of one weekly lunch shift. If you are interested in helping, please contact Ms. Fama at famag@unionsd.org.
  5. Volunteering/Visiting Campus this Year?
    1. If you haven't filled out USD's YEARLY mandatory Code of Conduct, you can submit it HERE.  (This is a yearly requirement)
    2. Scan your Driver's License in the Raptor System in the office. (If you're already in the system, no need to re-scan)
  6. Emergency Data Update: All families must update this anually.  Please check your emails- a few have been sent out since early August.
  7. Forgotten something at home? Parents should leave lunches, water bottles, glasses, etc on the table outside the office to avoid interrupting class instruction.  Please LABEL their items!  Tell your students to check this table in case they forget something - this way we avoid calling into classes and interrupting instruction.
  8. Label Bottle/Lunch Boxes/Clothing: Please label all items your student carries or layers of clothing they can remove.
  9. Have a non-urgent question or comment for the office? Please avoid the office first thing in the morning- it's a busy time when Ms. Fama is helping tardy students get to class.  You are welcome to email or visit at a later time in the day.

All district guidelines are provided in the Union District Parents' Annual Rights Notification.

If you have any questions please email Ms. FAMA <famag@unionsd.org>
