Did you know...

Grizzly Families!  CGD is a vital fundraiser - 100% goes directly to your students and their classrooms. If you have already donated, THANK YOU!

If a grade level cannot raise funds, they risk canceling field trips, class events, and celebrations.

Please be sure to check if your employer offers a matching program! Our Company Matching page offers a search tool to guide donors through their matching process. If you have not yet donated, please click the button below to donate on GHSC Toolkit.

Classroom Giving Drives are grade-level specific. If you wait until the Walkathon Drive to donate, your donations will go to the general fund for programs and school-wide events.

Classroom Giving Drive - DONATE HERE!
COMPANY MATCHING ACCOUNTED FOR 46% OF ALL DONATIONS LAST YEAR!

Thank you to all of the families who checked if their employer provides Company Matching Donations!!  You made ALLLLL the difference in helping us reach our fundraising goals last year!

PLEASE VISIT GHSC.NET/MATCHING TO CHECK AND MATCH YOUR DONATION - YOUR EFFORTS AND SUPPORT ARE UNMATCHED (lol)!

Ready For an Ice Cream Hangout?

Guadalupe's Annual Ice Cream Social is coming up this Wednesday, 9/4, 6-7:30pm. Come to the lunch benches to enjoy some yummy ice cream and toppings and let the kids enjoy the evening while playing on campus.

This is an excellent opportunity to connect or reconnect with fellow Grizzly families. Don't miss out on visiting tables highlighting organizations and upcoming campus events.  See you there!

TRAFFIC REMINDERS:

NO UTURNS

Do not make UTurns on the surrounding narrow streets during busy morning drop offs- it is dangerous to those walking and driving.

SLOW DOWN & OBEY TRAFFIC LAWS

Families have experienced careless drivers who roll through stop signs and do not heed traffic safety volunteers.

ONLY USE CROSSWALKS TO CROSS THE STREET

Parents must set a positive example by crossing at crosswalks and allowing a steady flow of cars at morning drop off.

COLEMAN GATE IS LOCKED 8:05AM - DISMISSAL BELL

Please only drop off at the Vera Cruz entrance.  Do not prop open the gate- this creates avoidable student safety issues.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY SAFE BY BEING PROACTIVE AGAINST POTENTIAL ACCIDENTS!

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!

Need to Drop-off Early? Mileage Club starts 7:40am

Did you know students are not allowed on campus unattended before 8:05 AM?

The perfect solution is to register for Guadalupe's Mileage Club. Five days a week (weather and vacation days permitting), a parent volunteer will monitor student runners on the upper track while they do laps. It's a great way for your student to start the day and parents can get on the road to work earlier! Students earn prizes for milestones they meet. All students must be pre-registered.

IMPORTANT ITEMS FROM MRS. HAMCHUK

  1. District Illness Absence Policy: If your student has vomited, had diarrhea, or run a fever of 100˚F or above in the last 24 hours, please keep your student home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. Please report your student's illness and absence daily by calling the Guadalupe Attendance Line - Please call ‭(408) 927-9452‬
  2. District Independent Study: If your child will be absent for 3 consecutive school days (and no longer than 14 days), you must coordinate a short-term independent study option with your teacher.  Parents must contact their teacher or the office at least two weeks in advance for a link to the request form.
  3. Arriving After 8:15 AM:  All late students must go to the front office to check in and get a late slip.
  4. YARD DUTY SHORTAGE: The front office is still short on Yard Duties for lunchtime. They are just asking for a dedication of one weekly lunch shift . If you are interested in helping, please contact Mrs. Hamchuk <hamchukj@unionsd.org>.
  5. Volunteering/Visiting Campus this Year?
    1. If you haven't filled out USD's mandatory Code of Conduct, you can submit it HERE.  (This is a yearly requirement)
    2. Scan your Driver's License in the Raptor System in the office. (If you're already in the system, no need to re-scan)
  6. Emergency Data Update: All families must update this anually.  Please check your emails- a few have been sent out since early August.
  7. Forgotten something at home? Parents should leave lunches, water bottles, glasses, etc on the table outside the office to avoid interrupting class instruction.  Please LABEL their items!  Tell your students to check this table in case they forget something - this way we avoid calling into classes and interrupting instruction.
  8. Label Bottle/Lunch Boxes/Clothing: Please label all the items your student carries or layers of clothing they can take off. Our Lost & Found is overflowing!
  9. Have a non-urgent question or comment for the office? Please avoid the office first thing in the morning- it's a busy time when Mrs. Hamchuk is helping tardy students get to class.  You are welcome to email or visit at a later time in the day.

All district guidelines are provided in the Union District Parents' Annual Rights Notification.

If you have any questions please email Mrs. Hamchuk <hamchukj@unionsd.org>
