IMPORTANT ITEMS FROM MRS. HAMCHUK

  1. NEW! VISITOR RSVP FORMS: In preparation for our in-person events, individual visitors must complete the Event RSVP Form below. This does not limit access to attending the event but it will allow our team to prepare to welcome you - making your check-in process shorter. This will especially be important for events like Walkathon, Halloween, Informances, Olympic Day, and end-of-the-year celebrations.
  2. YARD DUTY SCHEDULE UPDATE:   We are still short on Yard Duty for lunchtime recess (11:50AM-12:45PM). Mrs. Hamchuk has created a new schedule for parents to sign up on specific days throughout the school year. You will find month tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Find the week or date you would like to volunteer then enter your name and email address into a blank field. Please also add your contact information to the contact list tab. If there are no empty spots left, please scroll down to the Back Up Parent section on that tab. Add your name, email, and phone and Jeannie will reach out if we have some cancellations. Please arrive early to your first shift to receive training from season Yard Duty on what to do. If you have any questions about being a Yard Duty, don't hesitate to contact Jeannie Hamchuk

  3. District Illness Absence Policy: If your student has vomited, had diarrhea, or run a fever of 100˚F or above in the last 24 hours. Please keep your student home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. Please report your student's illness and absence daily by calling the Guadalupe Attendance Line - Please call ‭(408) 927-9452‬
  4. District Independent Study Change: The district has changed its Independent Study Contract Guideline. The guideline now states, "The minimum period for any short-term independent study option shall be three consecutive school days and no longer than 14 days." Parents are still required to contact their student's teacher at least two weeks in advance to request a contract to be set up.
  5. Forgotten something at home? Parents should leave lunches, water bottles, glasses, etc on the table outside the office to avoid interrupting class instruction.
  6. Have a non-urgent question or comment for the office? Please avoid the office first thing in the morning- it's a busy time when Mrs. Hamchuk is helping tardy students get to class.

All district guidelines are provided in the Union District Parents' Annual Rights Notification.

If you have any questions please email Mrs. Hamchuk <hamchukj@unionsd.org>

LOST & FOUND RACK IS FULL!!

Ms. Linda has been working hard these last two weeks collecting forgotten items left around campus. The bag in this photo was filled with over 40+ items she collected - just from this Thursday! 12/20 will be first purge and donate for the lost and found.

  • Please put your names on any clothing that can be taken off, including hats. Don't forget to label water bottles and lunch boxes, too!
  • Remind your student to check the lost and found!
  • If your child comes home with a clothing item you've never seen before, please return it.
JUNGLE BOOK REGISTRATION OPENS 10/16

As Aladdin moves to the stage late this month, registration for Guadalupe's next show will open on Monday, October 16th. Our Winter show with Starting Arts will be JUNGLE BOOK, and registration is open to Kinder/First/Second graders only.

After the great success of 101 Dalmatians last year, we are super excited to see Guadalupe's youngest talent retake the stage. Due to insurance constraints, we cannot extend this after-school program to our TK students. Don't worry; your performer will have 6 more years to enjoy the spotlight.

Parents in K/1st/2nd will receive an email announcement on 10/16 when the registration form GOES LIVE! You can find detailed information about the show @ GHSC.NET/ALADDIN.

SCHOOL PORTRAIT MAKE-UPS & DISCOUNTS

Over the next two weeks, families will start receiving email confirmations that student portraits are ready for order. Heads up that you might want your student(s) to take advantage of Portrait Make-up Day on Friday, October 26th

Parents can also purchase the digital download and order prints or other products anytime at a local printer like Walgreens or cheaper sites like Shutterfly.
