FINAL COUNTDOWN: 5 Weeks of School 

May has arrived at Guadalupe, and there are so many amazing events coming up for all grades and families. If you missed our End of Year Outlook email with all the important dates, you can find A COPY HERE! The May edition of the newsletter highlights the essential end-of-year news items, the launch volunteer signups for 2022/23, and SchoolKits going on sale.

Staff Appreciation Week is UNDERWAY

The week of 5/2-5/6 is STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK!

Your classroom parent should have reached out last week to provide class plans to celebrate your teacher and their aides during this week-long celebration. If you haven't received an email, please get in touch with roomparent.ghsc@gmail.com.

Important LIBRARY MESSAGE

  ALL LIBRARY BOOKS  

The END OF YEAR is coming, 

LIBRARY BOOKS should be returned to school by MONDAY, 5/9. Please check backpacks, bedrooms, desks, and bookshelves for any library books.

RETURN ALL BOOKS by 5/9

   BIRTHDAY BOOKS  

If your student received a BIRTHDAY BOOK this year. Please ensure that the book is returned to the Library by Monday, 5/9.


  WHAT BOOKS ARE CHECKED OUT?  

Your student can ask Mrs. Mettler in the Library to write down the book names, or parents can email Mrs. Mettler <mettlers@unionsd.org> requesting a list.


  LOST LIBRARY BOOKS  

Can't find your student library book in the house, contact Mrs. Mettler <mettlers@unionsd.org> to get the replacement amount. Parents can pay this fee on the GHSC Toolkit Store using the LOST LIBRARY BOOK store item.

  1. LAST LOST & FOUND: Three weeks since Spring Break, the Lost-n-Found is filling up fast. Please remember that everything left on the rack will be removed and donated on the last day of school.
  2. 3RD/4TH/5TH GRADE TESTING: State testing will be held from 5/2-5/13 in all 3rd/4th/5th classrooms. Parents are asked not to come on campus during these dates and avoid personal appointments for students on these dates. If your student has to miss a testing date, please contact your teacher in advance.

The Guadalupe Yearbook went into production in March, and we ordered a fixed number of copies to fill preorders. Right now, we only have 40 books available for purchase.

 

After the books are sold, the Yearbook won't be available for purchase anymore. If you are unsure if you purchased your Yearbook this year. You can find the previous order on GHSC TOOLKIT.

22/23 VOLUNTEER SIGNUPS

As we wind down the school year, it's time to start thinking about returning to Guadalupe for the 2022/2023 school year. Parent Volunteering is how we as a school remain such an active and social community at Guadalupe. The Guadalupe Home & School Club likes to kick off volunteer signups before the end of the school year, so we can spend the summer organizing the coming school year. Please take a minute or two, and visit the GHSC ToolKit 22/23 Volunteer Form. Below are some highlighted opportunities we especially need help with next year.

SchoolKits ORDERS OPEN

SchoolKits ordering opened online. School Kits is a great way to kick off the coming school year (2022/23) by giving your student the needed tools for the new grade they are entering. Each grade curates its grade box, so parents don't have to go shopping for supplies during the first week of school.

A WEEK FULL OF FUN WAYS TO CELEBRATE THE END OF THE YEAR!

Reimbursement DEADLINE COMING

Did you help with a class party or activity?

Did you purchase supplies for one of the many learning programs at school, like Art Vistas?

The final date to submit a reimbursement request to the Guadalupe Home and School Club is 5/30. All requests are to be completed on GHSC Toolkit. We are no longer accepting paper check requests.

Helpful hint: Combine your receipts into one PDF file, or you can attach three files as proof of purchase.
