SUBJECT: GHSC Newsletter: December Edition

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, Family!

From our Guadalupe Family to yours, we wish you and your family a joyous holiday season.

, in this holiday edition of the GHSC Newsletter, we are excited to announce launch of the Yearbook Cover Contest, upcoming PJ Spirit Day and two great opportunities to help those in need this holiday season.

The GREAT PURGE

of the Lost & Found is COMING

Each year the LOST & FOUND rack is purged completely, and all of the clothing and water bottles are donated to a local donation center. We hate to see your kid's stuff given away. There is still time!

Between today and Thursday, December 16th, please check the BLACK LOST & FOUND RACK shown in the photos above. Parents can search the rack during drop-off (7:50-8:30 AM) and after school. If the rack is not sitting outside, it's typically stored in the cafeteria.

During the holiday break, a parent volunteer will be gathering all the items off the rack and delivering them to a local donation center. If you have any questions, please get in touch with lostnfound.ghsc@gmail.com.

Guadalupe & Lietz GIFT DRIVE

Mr. Jones is partnering with Mrs. Lopez (Principal @ Lietz) to help six families at Guadalupe and Lietz this holiday season. GHSC is hosting a donation drive to give gift cards to these six families to help them through the holiday season.

Simply visit GHSC.NET/GIFTCARD and make a donation. GHSC will take care of the GIFT CARD arrangements with both principals. Any amount is the perfect gift, but even $20 goes a long way for one family.

IMPORTANT ITEMS FROM MRS. HAMCHUK

  1. Travel:  If your family is traveling over the break please keep an eye on the news for any changes that come down on travel guidelines for the county.  If guidelines change, please watch for email from the district for any updates on recommended protocols.
  2. Attendance:  When your student is out ill, please call each day they are out and please leave specific information on the attendance line (symptoms like a fever, cough, runny nose, stomachache, headache etc. - this info is important and tracked. If you are late due to a doctor or dentist appointment, please ask for a excuse slip from the doctor office to ensure your tardy is excused).
  3. Volunteers:  We have a new sign-in system for volunteers.  If you have been cleared to volunteer, please be sure to bring a driver's license with you for the NEW sign in/out process.
  4. Emergency Updates:  We still have 47 missing forms (that haven't been started and 5 that have been started but not submitted).  Please watch your email or call Jeannie directly for help in completing this process.
  5. Parents on Campus: Parents may pick students up on campus, but we ask that you do not wait outside your student's classroom door. Doors have to be left open and students don't need the added distraction.

If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Hamchuk <hamchukj@unionsd.org>
