Parents can view it on YOUTUBE.

COMING SOON 21/22 Volunteer Signup & Toolkit Relaunch

With the end of the school, next week, it's time to prepare for the 21/22 school year. On Tues. 6/1, parents will receive an email invite to start signing up for the VOLUNTEER opportunities for the new school year. We can't make 21/22 happen without your help!

Then on Sun. 8/1, GHSC Toolkit will relaunch for the new school year. It's important to log on and REVERIFY your account to ensure you receive important info throughout the school year. Just by logging in, all of your students will be automatically entered to win a LIMITED EDITION GUADALUPE T-SHIRT. Each year we pick 26 families WIN and each grizzly student in the family gets a shirt. All you have to do is log on starting 8/1 and just verify your account.

SHUTTERFLY REBOOT

Starting 6/30, all Class Shutterfly Sites will be wiped clean. If there are any photos or documents you would like to save, please download them by Wed. 6/30. Parents will receive an email reminder the week before the WIPE!

Next year, we will be moving from individual class Shutterfly Sites to grade-specific Shutterfly Sites. The grade sites allow more coverage of news to all parents in the grade. Room parents will be able to communicate about upcoming class events through the message board. The best part, all the shared photos will carry on with grades as they move up in grades. The site will then replace our tradition of creating a whole new site to keep families connected as they graduate up into Middle School and High School. If you have any questions about these changes, please contact communications.ghsc@gmail.com.

CONGRATS 5th GRADE!!

On behalf of the GHSC Board and all the other families at Guadalupe, we want to congratulate all the 5th grade students on their PROMOTION to MIDDLE SCHOOL next week. We also want to say goodbye to the 53 families who are leaving Guadalupe with their last Grizzly in the family.

WHO KNEW WE WERE MISSING A SIGN!

The Traffic Safety Team has some fantastic news. After repeated requests to the city, Guadalupe will be seeing some improvements and additions to the streets around Guadalupe over the next couple of months. The city sent a survey team around the neighborhood and submitted an order for the listed improvements and changes below.

  • Replace the missing stop sign located on the southeast corner of Redmond Avenue and Monteverde Dr.
  • Upgrade the existing centerline at the intersection of Vera Cruz/Puerto Vallarta Dr.
  • Refresh faded stop message and stop bar to provide better visibility on Vera Cruz/Puerto Vallarta Dr.
  • Vera Cruz/Monteverde Dr. Crosswalk will be upgraded to a ladder typed crosswalk to provide better awareness for vehicles approaching the intersection.
  • Installing additional school signage along Coleman Rd.

SPEEDING continues to be a problem along Coleman. Mr. Jones has not decided whether COLEMAN will be open for pick up and drop off next year. Parents can help us curb speeding by submitting a report to the San Jose Police Department's traffic endorcement unity (TEU) website, as it is always helpful for them to keep track of all of the open complaints. https://www.sjpd.org/_forms/teu_request_form.asp

If you have any questions or concerns about traffic, please email trafficsafety.ghsc@gmail.com or head over to GHSC Toolkit to sign up to volunteer next year! The more help we get, the safer we make our school.

YEARBOOKS ARE HERE!

Yearbook arrived earlier this week and they have been delivered to the students' classrooms for distribution by their teacher.

Each teacher will communicate which day they will be handed out during the last week of school.

We have thanked the yearbook team before for all their hard work on the book but now we want to give a round of applause to ALL PARENTS & STAFF for helping us with student portraits and so many more great photos that make up this historic year in education.
