With a New Year brings exciting news for our Guadalupe community. With a smooth return to online learning, we look forward to upcoming prospects this Winter and Spring. Check out the upcoming events coming your way!

REPORTING ABSENCES: Even though we are in distance learning, parents NEED TO CALL the attendance line to report absences. Many let their teachers know; however, they need to either copy (Mrs. Hamchuk <hamchukj@unionsd.org>) on emails or call the attendance line directly.

Student Portraits NEEDED

Parents, we need your help with the Yearbook Student Portraits. On Monday all parents received an email from Mr. Jones asking parents to take a photo or choose a photo (taken between Summer 2020 and now) of your student(s) and email them to the Yearbook Team (yearbook.ghsc@gmail.com). These photos are being used on the class portrait pages and refernce for the school office.

Yearbook Discount Pricing Expired

The Guadlaupe Yearbook Team is going to make it happen this year. We are sure you're tired of us asking for photos and more photos, but we appreciate any moments you can shareOur yearbook will be a memorable collection of how our school succeeded during the year of the pandemic. Please keep sharing!


Staring Monday 1/4, the Yearbook is now FULL PRICE. Parents can purchase the yearbook on GHSC Toolkit today. We will stop taking orders on Mon. 4/5. The sibing discount is still available, below is the pricing from NOW till 4/5. 


(Please note, all orders need to have at least 1 "basic" yearbook before utilizing the sibling discount)

BIRTHDAY BOOKS are BACK!

With our NEW Librarian, Mrs. Mettler is fast at work. New exciting changes are coming to the Guadalupe Library that our students will enjoy when we return to in-person. 

We have brought back BIRTHDAY BOOKS to the GHSC ToolkitStore. Parents can help keep the library bookshelves filled with the latest and most excellent books. With your Birthday Book Donation, a book is purchased, and a nameplate is added to the book celebrating your student's Birthday. Your student will get to take the book home, and when it returns, it will be there for future students to enjoy.

Spirit Day 01/14: Beanie Hat Day

Mark your students calendar for Thursday 1/14 for the next Guadalupe Spirit Day. BEANIE DAY, a special day for students to wear their favorite Beanie Hat or Cap. Students are welcome to join their Class Zoom Thursday 1/14. Parents, we invite you to take photos of your students all dressed up. 


These Spirit Day photos will play a large part of this year's Guadalupe Yearbook, please either share your photo on your Class Shutterfly Site or send it via email to YEARBOOK.GHSC@GMAIL.COM.

Yearbook Cover Contest ENDING

Yearbook Cover Contest CLOSING on Sunday 1/10. 

There is still time for your student to come up with a design for the Guadalupe Yearbook. With distance learning, we are now offering online submissions until the deadline on 1/10. Detailed contest information can be found here --->  GHSC.NET/COVER-ART

If  you not able to scan your student artwork, you can drop off the artwork this weekend (1/8-1/10) outside of the school office. 

Another new option this year. Students are welcome to create their artwork with digital tools like Illustrator, Paint, or other digital drawing apps.

January Yearbook PHOTO CONTEST

For January, the Yearbook Team would like students to share a photo of themselves 

VISITNG SOMEPLACE NEW TO THEM

It's easy to go for walks or bike rides around o ur neighborhood. We invite familes to explore the Bay Area great outdoors. Visit a new park, playground, hiking trail or even a new beach for a quick stroll. Take a photo and share it on your Class Shutterfly Site or by merely emailing it yearbook.ghsc@gmail.com.


The Yearbook team thanks you for sharing these memorable photos. The photos will make up a large number of the photos used in the Yearbook this year. 

VARIETY SHOW APPLICATIONS

In case you missed last week's email announcing The Variety Show Application being available on GHSC Toolkitjoin our student community as they show off their talent on LIVE YOUTUBE SHOW.

Whether your performer dances, sings, plays music, we invite them to perform on camera and share their talents. NEW THIS YEAR, we want to include outside talents like skateboard tricks, trampoline flips or routines or even roller-skating kicks.

All Performers Must Submit APPLICATION 

on GHSC Toolkit

APPLICATION DEADLINE is Thursday 1/28

The Guadalupe Variety Show will be online this year with 

LIVEPerformances hosted on the GHSC Youtube Channel

There will be two showtimes 5:30 PM & 7:30 PM

(each show is only 1 hour long)

Traffic Safety Volunteers

The Traffic Safety is still in need of parent volunteers to help monitor the Guadalupe Parking Lot driveways. Volunteers can sign up for just one day a week or two.

Project Cornerstone

New Year and the 

Return of PROJECT CORNERSTONE!!


We are looking for parent readers who are willing to either film themselves reading a book or doing live reading during school hours. These books are not only great lessons for the students but an opportunity to spark a discussion at home. 

If you are interested in volunteering or have questions, please email Surt  Adrianus our NEW Project Cornerstone Chair.

WANTED: STUDENT BOOK REVIEWS

The Guadalupe Library and Morning Announcement Team are teaming up to encourage all grades to read more. We are looking for readers from all grades to shoot a SHORT VIDEOBOOK REVIEW of their favorite book or book they have just read.

Students are also welcome to write their reviews and have them showcased on the library book displays. Parents and students can find guidelines on how to shoot and submit video reviews and written reviews on GHSC.NET/READS. Our first review was published in this weeks Morning Announcement.

New Year, NEW TAX SEASON

GREAT NEWS! All of your Guadalupe Donation email receipts can be used as proof of donation when filing your taxes. You can also find a complete list of donations and request new email receipts on GHSC Toolkit's MY ACCOUNT Page


If you donated through your corporate matching program, you would need to go to your company matching website.
