SUBJECT: GHSC Newsletter: November Edition

We Celebrate With You Family!

There is a lot of great news in this month's newsletter. Some key things to look out for this edition is the BOOKFESTBook Fair , a Change to this month's BOARD MEETING, and the Holiday Card Fundraiser. All this and more is detailed below.

, The GHSC Board wishes your family and friends a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving Holiday this month.

THANK YOU GUADALUPE FAMILIES!

The Guadalupe Giving Drive ended last month, and we reached almost 90% of our overall goal. The teachers want to thank all the families who gave what they could for the drive, and their continued support during distance learning. Parents without your generous donations, we wouldn't have these great classrooms online, and eventually, in-person. Please don't forget your Giving Drive Donation is considered tax-exempt and can be matched through corporate matching programs.

Important Documents From District

Here are some important items needed by Guadalupe front office.

Over the course of 3 months there have been several emails requesting information or signatures from families. Thank you to those families that have responded to 1 or more of the messages.   There are 3 items that have gone out that are either over-due or due this week:

Emergency Information Update: Requires sending us updated phone numbers/email/emergency contacts via InfoSnap - link sent through email, no date on original request, but the front officer needs it ASAP.

Parent Survey: This survey is for returning to school - please complete survey for each child who goes to Guadalupe (Non-Binding), Link provided below and due ASAP.

BOOKFEST Has Started!

How many books have you read so far? Remember everyone in our Guadalupe community can add books to help us reach our goal of 2,000 books. Add your books at ghsc.net/bookfest. If you just read a great book remember to recommend that book to your friends by filling out this google slide.

If we each read every day in November how many books could we read?

Guadalupe BOOK FAIR is ONLINE

This years Winter Book Fair is ONLINE and with a NEW COMPANY!

We have partnered with Follett this year to help bring more books home to your student. For every purchase made, Guadalupe earns 40% back in rewards to support our literacy mission.

Book Fair Web Address:  http://efairs.follettbookfairs.com

Students are welcome to create artwork, build something, or take a photo of themselves and what they are thankful for. Parents can take a photo of their work, creation, or whoever they have chosen to celebrate. Then share the photo on your Class Shuttery Site or email the photo to yearbook.ghsc@gmail.com. Art Vistas Needs You!

We really would like to bring Art Vistas back to all of our classrooms. To make this happen, we still have a few classrooms who do not have an Art Vistas docent. We are still in need of volunteers for the following classes:

Conley / LY / Hull / Killen

Strubeck-Landis / Suseov / Dixon

If you are interested, please email artvistas.guadalupe@gmail.com.

Traffic Safety Parents

With the school inching closer to an increase of in-person instruction in the New Year, we need parents to help volunteer during the morning drop off and a few parents during the pick-up time. We are in the early stages of planning but would like to start building a team of parents to be ready and aware of what needs to happen when Guadalupe Reopens.

Interested in volunteering for one or two mornings or afternoon? Please email volunteer.ghsc@gmail.com.

November Spirit Day: COMING SOON

The NEW Student Council was elected this week, one of their first orders of business will be to brainstorm, debate and vote on the Spirit Day themes for the rest of the year. The November Spirit Day will be announced in the morning announcement later this month.

WE NEED YOUR PHOTOS!

The YEARBOOK TEAM is in great need of your personal photos you take of your student at home. Whether it's for a Spirit Day, Yearbook Competitions or simply images of your student studying, sitting on zoom, working on Art Vistas project or playing in the backyard. We will use them.

You will find photo albums on your Class Shutterfly Site to upload the photos or simply email the photos to YEARBOOK.GHSC@GMAIL.COM.. If you have a lot, email the yearbook team we will give you some options. The more photos you send, the more photos your student sees of themselves in the YEARBOOK.
