The past month has challenged us in different ways, yet our community is STRONG! We are thinking about you and hope you are reminded that this is a community that seeks to encourage and support one another. If you know a family in need, please reach out to us. Interested in Helping?

Guadalupe Classroom Giving Drive: THERE'S ONE WEEK LEFT

The Giving Drive is still taking donations to meet the needs of your student(s) classroom(s). The Drive has been affected by distance learning with a reduced need for funds. With the suggested amounts being reduced by 50%, this small amount allows the teachers to plan for field trips, activities for the class both virtually and eventually in-person, as well as allow your teacher to expand their lessons with new teaching materials.

Kinder/First/Second/Third/Fourth Grades are all over 70% of their goal.

Fifth Grade is still under 50%

Here is a breakdown of the suggested amounts for each grade. The GHSC understands we are all in a challenging time, and please know these amounts are just suggestions and ask all families to donate within their household budget.

• Kinder $34 /per student

• First $40 /per student

• Second $54 /per student

• Third $64 /per student

• Fourth $76 /per student

• Fifth $84 /per student

The GHSC is always in need of volunteers. Please check out the roles below, and contact the email provided. Parents are welcome throughout the year to signup for future volunteer opportunities on GHSC Toolkit.

Art Vistas Needs You!

We are almost ready to get Art Vistas up and running for the school year. Thanks to the parents who have volunteered to help. We are still in need of volunteers for the following classes:

Walpole / Conley

Victorine / Hull

DeFazio / Strubeck-Landis

Suseov / Brasher

Dixon

If you have a child in one of these classes and would be willing and able to teach a short art lesson six times throughout the school year, please email artvistas.guadalupe@gmail.com..

Room Parents Needed for Ms. Ly & Mr. Baza

We are still looking for a Room Parent for Mr. Baza's & Ms. Ly's classes. Room Parents this year will help keep communication flowing and support the teacher with special events or activities online and eventually in-person. If you are interested in being the Room Parent for one of these classes, please email roomparent.ghsc@gmail.com.

Project Cornerstone

Project Cornerstone is an amazing in-class program. We want to get this program started in the classroom but we have not been able to find a parent to help organize trainings and scheduling. This is purely an organization role and we have two amazing former Guadalupe parents who are willing to help you get the program started.

BOOKFEST Second Language Readers

Our Bookfest Team is in need a few parents who speak a second language, and would like to read a book on video for the students. You reading will be included in our NEW BOOKFEST celebration in December.

Email winterfest.ghsc@gmail.com if you are interested in reading a book in your native language for this event.

Guadalupe BOOKFEST 2020 *NEW*

For the month of November the WHOLE school community will be racing to read a total of 2,000 books with a HUGE celebration at the end on December 2nd!

More detailed information will be coming this month VIA EMAIL to all Guadalupe famlies. Please note, BOOKFEST is replacing Winterfest this year due to large gathering restrictions. If you would like to help with running BOOKFEST online, please email winterfest.ghsc@gmail.com.

Spirit Day 10/9: CREATIVE MASK DAY

Mark your students calendar for Friday 10/9 for the next Guadalupe Spirit Day. CREATIVE MASK DAY is a great opportunity for your student to make a mask and wear it to their first Class Zoom of the day. Parents we invite you to take photos of your students mask or them wearing it.

These Spirit Day photos will play a large part of this year's Guadalupe Yearbook, please either share your photo on your Class Shutterfly Site or send it via email to YEARBOOK.GHSC@GMAIL.COM.

Limited Edition T-Shirt Raffle Winners & Apparel News

The GHSC Toolkit Raffle closed two weeks ago, and all of the winning families have been notified. Thank you, everyone, for logging onto GHSC Toolkit to enter into the raffle. Maybe next year will be your lucky year. In November, we will be relaunching the Guadalupe Spirit Store, and a version of this shirt will be made available for purchase. Check next month's newsletter for more information.

Still A Few Copies Left!

We have a handful of 2019/20 Yearbooks leftover after their distribution. You can purchase a copy, and we will deliver it to your house or leave at the school office for pickup. You can purchase your copy of last year's yearbook on the GHSC TOOLKIT STORE.

SHARE YOUR PHOTOS...

The YEARBOOK TEAM is in great need of your personal photos you take of your student at home. Whether it's for a Spirit Day, Mr. Jones' Photo Challenges, Yearbook Competitions or simply images of your student studying. These photos are the ground work for this year's yearbook.

Each month, the Yearbook Team will be adding photo albums to collect your photos on your Class Shutterfly Site. Please share your photos there or feel free to email the photos to YEARBOOK.GHSC@GMAIL.COM or if you have a lot photos, use the email address above and we will send you our Google Drive Folder to upload your images. Thank you for your support.
